A lot of people think cheap is the main thing.
The cheaper the clothes the better – because you can buy more in a shorter period of time.

But what do we do with all our clothes?  How can it be that a t-shirt costs 3€ in the shop and 25€ when you make it yourself?
Who sews and tailors all the apparel? And what happens with all the garments no one wears anymore?

Dressmakers don't get paid enough –>
Clothes are cheaper –>
(Western) people buy more –>
More clothes get produced –>
Dressmakers get less and work more –>

25 billion
pounds of textiles get thrown away in the US per year.

Guess what! That's around 82 pounds per US resident.

Just 15% of that waste gets recycled or donated

85% vegetates the rest of its life at a garbage dump
